Again, In response to a lot of enquiries, I am not accepting dress donations at this time. If I see donated dresses at home, I am forced to make a distribution and at this stage I am Not administratively and financially ready to make a distribution. Dress A Girl Australia is on a break. If big non-profit organizations which gets big funding gets a break, I think an average person like me more than deserves it. Please be more understanding. I will make an announcement when am ready to accept donations. Thank you.
Everyone is advise that Dress A Girl Australia is closed for a much needed break effective today. Dress Operations will resume sometime in early April 2015.
The on-line shop will remain open and kept updated from time to time with new products. Please help support this cause by making a purchase. Thank you.

Some of you especially those who purchased through markets did not realize that you were actually making a difference and making this world a better place by purchasing an item from my stall. Thank you for believing in my products. Thank you.
The dress sponsorships for Christmas distribution is now closed. I have started updating the album with dresses that I have sewn for the 65 sponsorships and have taken over 3 for non-confirmation. Thank you so much to all who sponsored dresses. Your kindness and generosity to make a difference to the lives of 62 disadvantaged kids this Christmas is much appreciated. Thank you.

Last night I wrote in my facebook page about 'giving tuesday' which is on the 2nd of December. 2014. Giving tuesday is a global movement to celebrate a day of giving to kick off the giving season.
I have joined the 'giving tuesday' movement and have come up with this idea on how to celebrate it with Dress A Girl Australia especially for Christmas and since I think I have a lot of time to sew this weekend. My idea of 'gi♥ing tuesday' is dress sponsorship with the proceeds from the sponsorship to be donated to the Dress A Girl Australia well campaign to provide clean water and hope to the people of Kalagi Uganda. The money that I have raised selling handmade items intended for the Dress A Girl well I have used to pay for the cost of sending dresses to different locations for Christmas distribution so I believe it is just right and fair that the proceeds of these sponsorships should go back to the Dress A Girl well fund. That is hitting two birds with one stone to make this world a better place. A dress and a well.
I will be sewing dresses for the next 3 days and some of these dresses will be posted here and in my facebook page. For $10.00 you get to give a dress including an undie, a mini teddy bear, a hair tie, a magic slate for perhaps the little girl to write her dreams, one lolly and a button that says 'am special'.. These dresses will be distributed in slum areas in the Philippines on Christmas day and make a little girl feel special perhaps for the first time. A picture will be taken of the girl who receives a christmas bag and sometime after christmas or January, will be forwarded to the donor of the package. I have chosen the Philippines as the location as I have a parcel that still have lots of space that I can use. I have not reached the minimum weight but need to pay the minimum cost so I decided to add these gift bags anyway it is Christmas. All the items in the bag were personally purchased by me and the fabrics from my personal collection. So especially for those who do not sew but wants to help make a difference to the lives of the less fortunate, this is a good opportunity. Watch out for the dresses that will be posted in a special album and please help spread the word around. It is Christmas. Thank you.

Hi everyone! In response to many enquiries about dress collections, next year's plans will be published in early Feb or March 2015. After this Christmas distribution is completed, I will be taking a break over the Christmas and New Year period. Dress A Girl Australia's activities will be very minimal (except probably on the Dress A Girl well as I will not be lifting parcels for the Dress A Girl Australia well campaign). My back needs a complete rest that is why I am pushing for all the parcels to be completed by the end of this month. Any plans for next year will be published on this page and in my blog. Thank you.
Good Morning Ladies! Just a friendly reminder to those who are donating for the Christmas parcels. Please try to send your dresses as early as possible (Deadline in my postbox is Dec 1st) to give me more time to sort and pack. The last location that still needs to be filled is the Philippines and the cut-off date for parcels to leave Sydney is Dec 6 to make it to the country, released from customs and delivered to recipients before Christmas. This will also allow recipients to have enough time to plan their distributions.
This is the last scheduled dress distribution of the year. Thank you.

One Dress a Day Journey in 2013
Sewing for Charity in Sydney
I found this Dress A Girl Around the World campaign while browsing the internet and started to make dresses. Decided to create and establish it here to see if it would be accepted as a community work sometime in Mar 2011. From then on I have been managing the Dress A Girl Around the World campaign here in Australia. It is self-funded and my way of making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged kiddies around the world. I volunteer whatever time I can spare including weekends. I made all the items on this e-Shop to sell (except donated items where identified) to help me keep up with the cost of sending dresses overseas. Please browse over the products I made and if there is anything you like, please buy them. It is going to a very worthy cause. Thank you.
