I hope to restart sewing very, very soon.

Must be the good friday as I didnt feel like making a dress today. I think even if I have received the bias tapes that I ordered I believe I still will not be making any dresses today.
Hope things will change tomorrow.
The reason why I still make a post even if I do not or cannot make a dress for the day is because I want to keep track of the number of dresses/days I have missed. This way, if I could find the time to make more in some days, I just looked at the number of 'no dress' images.
Definitely no dress today. I did remember to order some bias tapes first hour in the morning this morning (before I started doing some work in the office) but I think with the long weekend coming up starting Friday I do not expect the items to be delivered until sometime next week.
It wasnt only the bias tapes that I run out of. My printer would not print anymore because two cartridges have run out of ink. I didnt want to force the printing as it might damage my printer which I also used for printing images on fabrics. So you know what this means if I cannot use my printer. I will not be able to print labels which I am also running out of. I left work early so I could get some printer cartridges but the color I was looking for was out of stock in the shop I went to but the good news is that it is on sale (60% off the retail price from $28 to $12). The guy was very helpful. He said if I could wait for a few days he can ring their other branches, see if they had it in stock and ask them to send it over to them . So I paid for the order to make sure that they processed it and will have to wait for a few days before I can have my printer working again. And I think the bias tapes and the ink cartridges will arrive at the same time so now I have to decide which task to do first. Printing labels or sewing dresses. What to do! But I think I am having fun with all these challenges.
No dress made today. Very disappointing. I discovered that I only had about half-a-metre left of bias tape. Cant even be used in one armhole!! I didnt want to make a dress that I could not finish. With the limited time I have left after work to sew a dress, bias tape is a big help. The pre-cut fabrics are calling out to be sewn but it has to wait a while until I get hold of bias tapes.
Am glad I had the chance to make 4 dresses yesterday as today I didnt have the time to sit down and sew one. I spent the day sorting and packing more dresses, t-shirts and undies and identifying donors as I want to complete the packing of 4 more parcels so when am ready to send all I have to do is take a parcel(s) to the post office.
So no dress today. A bit discouraging but I think the sorting and packing was more important...especially that I need to clean up the room where the dresses are kept. Until such time that I would feel comfortable that I have done all the sorting and the packing, I think my sewing will be most impacted as I can only do this or that but not this and that. :-)
In an attempt to catch up making dresses for the days I missed sewing one dress a day this month of March, I made 4 dresses today from a double-sized linen sheet I bought sometime last year. These are dresses #9 to #12.
With the coming long Easter weekend, I hope and will try my very best to sew more than 1 dress a day so I can at least make 31 dresses for the 31 days of March.
No need to thank myself. Just happy that I am sewing dresses again.
*** Sewn in memory of my high school classmates who have left this world quite early.
Day 81 Month of March and no dress made today. I spent my time to finish the sorting and packing of dresses for my first parcel to the Garden of Life in India so I could bring it with me to the postoffice tomorrow morning.
I still have not given up although I have missed almost half the number of days in March making dresses.
I founded and manage the Dress A Girl Around the World campaign here in Australia sometime in Mar 2011. I volunteer whatever time I can spare including weekends. I made all the items on this e-Shop to sell to help me keep up with the cost of sending dresses overseas. Please browse over the products I made and if there is anything you like, please buy them. It is going to a very worthy cause. Thank you.
